“A Message of Faith”

The very first canvas that I painted was the one above, “A Message of Faith”. It is an acrylic painting on a 3’ x 4’ canvas. It was completed in approximately nine months with portions being painted little by little. Trivia: When I had first woken up one morning and decided that I wanted to do the “etching-like” full-color work with the swirls and with the souls and angels outlines, I had intended to do that work on a 4’ x 5’ canvas. So I drove to a local craft store, walked straight through to the back where the canvas’ were and I hoisted the 4’x5’ off of the top shelf. Some of the other ladies who were there had said, “Wow, you must be really good…”, and I replied, “No, this will be my first painting.” They suggested that I go for something smaller. When I got to the cashier at the front of the store she said, “Wow, that’s a big project. You must be really good.” When I told her that this was my first attempt she suggested that I start with something smaller! I smiled, then I carried that huge canvas out to my 4-door sedan. I could not get it in the back doors nor the trunk….it was too big! Arg! So I carried it back into the store and exchanged that canvas for something smaller!

The later, larger canvas is the one on the home page of this web site is entitled, “Loved by Love Himself.” It is an acrylic painting on a 4’ x 5’ canvas. Hundreds of the stars were painted by hundreds of people who were invited to add a dot or star during one of my art signing events or at special occasions!

Between the year 2000 and 2004 I also painted twelve 16’ x 20” canvases. In 2004 in Richmond, Virginia the canvas’ were reproduced into art prints.

There were two sizes:  16" x 20” and 11” x 14” editions of 5000 each. The prints were released via art signings at Dameron’s Hallmark in Fredericksburg, Virginia every month between September/Oct 2004 through September of 2005 when the actual celebration of the Fifth Anniversary occurred. On each monthly release date each print was embossed with an anniversary seal at the bottom left corner. The prints were titled, copyrighted, signed and numbered.

In 2005 we celebrated the Fifth Anniversary of the first release of my art. On the Fifth Anniversary there was also a Limited Edition oval print entitled, “Beatific”, A Vision of the Trinity. There was a Limited Edition of 5000 of the 16” x 20” prints produced from this “Beatific” canvas.

In 2010 the Tenth Anniversary release was a color print entitled “If You Lead Me I Will Follow”. There were 200 limited edition prints in this issue!

When life got crazy and challenging the art was put on hold for years. As we now approach the Twentieth Anniversary in October 2020, we have been working on the Anniversary celebration to be held later this year! This website will keep you updated on events when it is appropriate to schedule.

NOTE:  If you purchase one of the full-color prints in our online store, you will be receiving the First Edition prints of art by Susan M. Sablon.  These are actually the First Edition Limited Edition releases of the 2004-2005 prints!

NOTE: “A Message of Faith” (the canvas above) was released as a very large print in the year 2002. There were approx. 2500 of these printed. Many were sold over the years. They are now considered Limited Edition error prints due to the printing definition/quality. If you have any questions about these prints, please contact us.
